Controversial collection from NYFW 2017
On February of this year on New York Fashion Week we could see collection that was created by Daisuke Obana for Men's, that was inspired by homeless people clothing. As admission to the show, they read "As our designer traveled the cities of America, he witnessed the various ways in which people there lived on the streets and the knowledge they have acquired while doing so. His observations of these so-called homeless or street people revealed that them to be full of clever ideas for covering the necessities of life." Outfits showed by their designer were high quality and from expensive and well made materials, which contrasted with the way they looked. Many layers of clothing and hoodies on models heads prevailed the catwalk. This collection made many people triggered and there's a lot of voices saying that using this kind of inspiration as a exclusive fashion wear is disrespectful and humiliating for homeless, who are looking like that because they can't afford other kind of clothes. I think that author of collection didn't mean to offend anyone, but at the end of the day it's everyone's decision to take that as offense or not.

This is really interesting, as fashion news as well as a moral dilemma. Unfortunately, It looks like, apart from using expensive fabrics, he just copied the look of the homeless: a random combination of clothes not coordinated in terms of colour or pattern. I think layering is the key feature you could use as a principle and maybe the model on the right looks the closest to what could've been achieved.
